A young cub takes his first steps through the alpine, hesitant yet curious, wrapped in the wonder of spring bursting into bloom around him. In A Beautiful Curiosity, I set out to capture that fleeting moment of pure discovery—the way young animals pause to absorb, to listen, to marvel. There’s a tender innocence in his stance, but also the quiet spark of becoming. He’s not merely wandering—he’s learning, sensing, awakening to the world.

The landscape hums with life: wondrous scents, rustling sounds, and textures that beg to be explored. Every brushstroke is an invitation to step into his perspective—to feel the pull of the unknown and the gentle thrill of a world unfolding, one cautious step at a time.

Part of the Exploring Something New series, this piece marks my return to painting and a journey of fresh beginnings. The process started with a layer of molding paste followed by many layers of acrylic paint.
